The Chapel Gallery brings back the chance to watch films as a cinema experience in Ormskirk once more…
Cinema is finally coming back to Ormskirk town centre after almost 40 years as part of a programme of events planned for Ormskirk’s Chapel Gallery this spring.
Residents across the Borough can see Friday Night Films and the cinema will host and a number of film clubs, plus party and function packages that can be booked.
West Lancashire’s older generation will remember their visits to The Pavilion, which closed in 1981, and to have a cinema in the Borough once again will be great for people of all ages.
Friday Night Films will take place twice a month and begin with musical movies and great book adaptations. Hairspray, the original cult musical movie, will be the first film screened on Friday 10 May and will delight lovers of musicals. Be sure not to miss the historic opening night film by booking your tickets in advance, as they are sure to sell fast. Dress up as well to make it an unforgettable evening.
First Man will be shown on Friday 31 May and provides a powerful insight into the challenges faced by the first astronauts to land on the moon. The film is based on “The life of Neil A. Armstrong,” the official biography the first astronaut to walk on the Moon.
To book tickets and for a full programme of Friday Night Films go to www.chapelgallery.org.uk
Film fans can pay £6 for a cinema ticket or make a night of it and book a cinema ticket and two-course meal for £20, and enjoy a meal prepared by the award winning Modern Caterer. Places for dining are limited so must be booked in advance from the online menu. A licensed bar will also be available.
Throughout the week the Gallery will host a range of other cinema experiences at very reasonable prices.
Every Wednesday at 10 a.m., the “Hello Baby Cinema Club”, will offer an opportunity for with anyone with a pre-school aged child to relax and enjoy a big screen adventure; low level lighting will be provided.
And at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, a Silver Screen Cinema Club will provide the opportunity to revisit some of the most memorable films screened over the decades.
On Saturdays at 2 p.m. families can enjoy a great cinematic adventure at the Film Matinee Club.
Movie enthusiasts can buy tickets for individual screenings or join one or more of the clubs so then can pay less to see the films and they can receive film programmes by email. For prices and membership details go to www.chapelgallery.org.uk
