Latest News on the WLBC Local Plan 

WLBC Cabinet  agreed a new Local Plan in January 2020, where the number of houses to be built in West Lancs was reduced, and the timescale of the plan was also reduced.

The proposed timetable for the new plan has been set back due to staff changes and an updated timetable is anticipated.

Information below is on the previous version of the WLBC Local Plan which was subsequently rejected at the inspectorate stage. 

WLBC LOCAL PLAN REVIEW News ( September 2019)

In Autumn 2018, WLBC published its Local Plan Review Preferred Options (LPRPO). A consultation process followed.

Following questionnaire responses from Bickerstaffe residents, and concerns brought to Bickerstaffe Parish Council meetings about the proposed WLBC Local Plan Preferred Options Review, a working party and residents’ group was formed.
